Returns on Mango Orchard and Economic Feasibility Tests of Mango Orchard in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh

Abstract :

 Mango isthe most significant tropical and subtropical fruits of the world, is called as the king of fruits on account of its nutritive value, taste, attractive fragrance and health promoting qualities. Mango is well adapted to tropical and sub tropical climates. The ideal temperature for mango ranges from 24oC to 30oC during the growing season, along with high humidity. A rainfall ranging from 890 to 1,015 mm in a year is considered to be ideal for growing mango. This paper made an attempt to review the status of the costs and returns had been discounted at12, 15 and 20 per cent to estimate the present worth of future returns. The net present value, benefit cost ratio; profitability index and internal rate of return are calculated and presented.
