Abstract :

Schools are areas where children grow and learn the laws of life. It is also the battle ground where many psychological problems may affect our children. This paper explores the challenges encountered by the present day school counselor in the school setting, the roles that he/she needs to play along with the various challenges faced on all fronts while working in schools. It enlightens the need for a school counselor in every school and future strategies to enhance the effectiveness of school counseling services, need for knowledge among people in this area and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in child psychology and psychiatry
