SUPRAPUBIC CARTILAGIOUS CYST – RARE EXTRINSICMASS INDENTING URINARY BLADDER

Dr . Priyanka Adurthy, Dr. Ajit Mahale

Abstract :

Suprapubic cartilaginous cyst is a rare entity presenting as a slow growing suprapubic mass in multiparous post–menopausal women. Common presentation will be painless mass at the pubis, recurrent urinary tract infections, dysuria, dyspareunia, urgency and frequency. Degenerative changes in the pubic symphysis are a common association which may be manifested as few air foci within the cyst similar to a vaccum phenomenon in degenerated interverteal discs. This cystic lesion can also arise from the inferior aspect of the pubic symphysis which may present as a vulval mass. Knowledge of this entity is essential as this is managed conservatively unlike other urinary bladder masses or uterine masses avoiding unnecessary interventions.
