Abstract :

Education is a key for development. Indians education sector is one of the largest sectors in the world. In India the development of education was taken at various steps/periods. But the modern education was introduced by the Christian Missionaries under the British rule. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the historical development of education in India under the Christian Missionaries in Madras Presidency
