Abstract :
Objective: To evaluate the in vitro antioxidant potentials of ethanolic extract of Garcinia indica Linn fruits.
Methods:The ethanolic extract of fruit rind of G.indica was subjected tothe analysis of phytochemicals, total phenolic,
tannin and flavonoid contents and free radical scavenging activities such asDPPH,Nitric oxide radical,Superoxide radical, Hydroxylradical
radical,ABTS+radical, reducingpower and Metalion-chelatingactivities were determined. Results: The ethanolic extract of G.indica fruit rinds
were demonstrated a notable antioxidant potential dose dependently with best activity at 500µg/ml. conclusion:Traditionally claimed medicinal benefits of G.indica might be due to its potent anti-oxidant nature.
