STATISTICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TOTAL LENGTH AND LIVER WEIGHT OF Carcharhinus limbatus (J. P. Muller & Henle, 1839) FROM SASSOON DOCKS

Abstract :

The present research was carried out to establish relationship between Total length and Liver weight of Carcharhinus limbatus from Sassoon docks. The mean value of Total length is 33.55 ± 2.11, while that of Liver weight is 3.66 ± 0.49. The kurtosis value of both the features is negative. So the distribution curve of Total length and Liver Weight is Platykurtic. The Skewness of both the features is slightly positively skewed. The Linear Regression equation between Total length (X) and Liver Weight (Y) of Carcharhinus limbatus is Y = 0.296 + 0.1X. Similarly the Correlation value between Total length (X) and Liver Weight (Y) of Carcharhinus limbatus is 0.43 i.e. Positive correlations. Thus as Total length increases the weight of the liver also increases subsequently.
